Florence and the Machine, "Shake It Out"

Great song, great video, great performer. I think she looks a little like Siouxsie Sioux. Not the hair, obviously - just in the face. She looks like Siouxsie. This song also reminds me of something Siouxsie would have done - one of Siouxsie's more lively songs.

Valerie June

Valerie June is absolutely fantastic. I'd never heard of her before Thursday night - she opened for the band Balthrop, Alabama. I am so happy I got there in time to see her perform. She's one of the best musicians I've heard.

"Rain Drop" and "Twas Twined and Twisted" are available at her Sonicbids site.

Jose Gonzalez, "Teardrop"

I hadn't heard this in years, but they played it at the end of the Mike Doughty interview on WFUV. I'd forgotten how beautiful this version is!

Ever pro-active, Mike Doughty takes his own mug shot, for when he's finally arrested for violating Debbie Gibson's restraining order.  Tiffany will make bail for him.

Eatin' beans and makin' love, as long as I am able...

I want to be their groupie. They won a Grammy, and I've never even heard of them. Shows you how much I pay attention to the Grammy awards.
