Next weekend is the all-powerful, all wondrous Dragon*Con. I can't promise I'll post a whole lot before then, either. I'll try. Right now I'm trying not to trip over anything in my own apartment!
Blog of (Mostly) Independent Music These are all songs found on free, legal music-sharing blogs; however, if you're a rights holder to a song and want it removed please e-mail me mailto:ceruleanlobster@yahoo.com . *Please* put "music" in the subject line. I have 6,000 + e-mails. Seriously. I have the Gmail account, too, but it has 11,000 emails. For reals.

No post this weekend
No post this weekend. I had to do that thing that people have to do once in awhile that no one likes to do--that thing involves packing personal belongings in boxes, and transporting boxes. Yeah, that thing. I hate it and I'm exhausted.

Crowded House
Crowded House, new album Intriguer.
I was a little nervous when I heard that Crowded House had a new album after 14 years. I wondered if it would be a phoned-in attempt to get a little cash. Turns out it's not phoned in at all. It was jauntily walked over and confidently handed to the public. Judging by the first single, "Saturday Sun", it's the real deal...a legimately good effort.
Nice website! Not too flashy, but not sparse.

**Note** I think I'm going to retire the "Songs That Might Otherwise Pass You By" title. There are so many weekends where I can't find many actual mp3s that I can post. Sometimes I just want to write in general about a band. So, I decided that I'm going to start doing generic blog posts under the overarching title Cerulean's Love of Music. I still plan to post every weekend, but it's going to be very light for the next few weeks. Dragon*Con's coming up, and I've also got some other stressful things going on (without getting all private on a public forum).

I'm a little behind on this train; apparently "New Soul" came out in 2008. I'm not sure how I missed it, but it's a great song.

Songs That Might Otherwise Pass You By, Part Two
*Note* I think this is going to be the last song I post for the weekend. I have annoying things going on (moving) and good things going on (don't you wish you knew).
Sweet Talk Radio, "My Hallelujah"
Sweet Talk Radio, "My Hallelujah"
(Couldn't find a free mp3, but it's available on Amazon, iTunes and the usual places).
This woman's voice is so fantastic that I feel a little overwhelmed. I seriously think I need to lie down. Or cry. Or both. It's just beautiful. The studio version of the song can be heard on their iLike page. Their songs can also be heard on their website.
I first heard them on Friday night's episode of "Haven". The episode ended with their song "We All Fall Down". It's not on the studio album available, but their Facebook said it's now streaming on their Band Page. They posted a link to it on their Facebook wall. It's a gorgeous song.

Meiko, "Boys With Girlfriends"
Of course, I don't condone doing anything sneaky (or blatant) with boys with girlfriends, but it's still a cool song. It's two years old--I'm a little late to this party, I'm afraid.

Songs That Might Otherwise Pass You By, Part Two
**I know I've been skimping on the third song the last few weeks. I'm just trying to work out some personal complexities, and also it's Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. Big Fish ain't gonna chomp on themselves. Anyhoos, this is the last song for this weekend.**
Katsen, "Where Nobody Can Find Us" (MP3 courtesy of their label. The other song of theirs is very nice, too.)

The more I hear this song the more I like it.

Little known fact: Standard Fare posed for the cover an R.L. Stine book
(If you didn't like this caption, I had another one for another photo that involved synchronized lawn sitting. I'm still not sure which one I like better.)
Because I can't let any joke go to waste...
Synchronized Lawn Sitting. It's a thing. Watch for it in the Summer Olympics.
